Fire Defence has been awarded a number of projects in the new groundbreaking Shopping Centre in London.

Westfield’s new Stratford City shopping centre in east London, Stratford City, will open in September 2011, the developer has revealed. Fire Defence is delighted to be playing a key part in such a prestigious scheme.

The £1.45bn centre, situated next to the Olympic site, will cover 1.9 million sq ft, making it the largest urban shopping centre in Europe.

The shopping centre itself will be home to over 300 fashion and lifestyle brands including Forever 21, the US clothing label, Topshop and Primark. Anchor tenants include Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.

When the shopping gets too tiring refreshment beckons from a choice of 50 outlets, and it is rumoured that Jamie Oliver may open a restaurant. A fresh food market is also promised.

There will be three hotels: a Premier Inn and Holiday Inn as well as a complex of executive suites offering more than 600 bedrooms. Large screens are displayed along the main walkways which will show the main sporting events – ideal for those wanting the Olympic experience but who have not managed to get tickets.

Our dedicated manufacturing, design and project management teams are in a prime position to manage, control and install a number of up to 30 Fire Sprinkler Projects as they become available at the Westfield Centre. Fire Defence are pleased to announce that we have already secured the order for 11 projects, including New Look, Prêt a Manger & Jessops.
