Fire defence are experts in fitting fire protection sprinkler systems in industrial, warehouses and manufacturing buildings. We have over 30 years of experience in fitting sprinkler systems for companies which include distribution warehouses for Gregory Distribution and document storage facilities for Iron Mountain.
The British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association states that warehouses are the UK's largest fire losses. (Source: Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Fire Protection Association (FPA)). Fire losses in warehouses make up around 10% of the total cost of all fires with average losses exceeding £1,000,000.
In warehouses the stock can be of hazardous nature which means they have abnormal fire loads. Without having fire protection sprinkler systems installed a fire can take hold very quickly and devastate a warehouse and all its contents within a couple of hours. Even in those warehouses where non hazardous stock is help often the products packaging can be very susceptible to fire i.e. Polystyrene which is used in the packaging of many products, when burned omits toxic and dangerous levels of smoke.
In most manufacturing and industrial buildings there are many flammable materials which if caught alight would devastate a building, expensive machinery and equipment very quickly. Industrial machinery and equipment are usually specifically designed and bespoke for the customer and is made to order, so even after the fire is cleared and the building re-built it could still be longer before the machinery and equipment is replaced. Could your business afford to be out of action for any length of time due to fire damage?
