Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems and Fire Safety for all Schools, Colleges, Universities and Education Establishments

Fire Defence PLC has worked with some of the country's leading education providers and establishments to keep their visitors, staff and property safe from the risk of fire. Our fire protection sprinkler systems have been installed in Schools, Colleges and Universities all over the UK.

Each year more than 1300 schools in the UK suffer fires which are large enough to be attended by local authority and fire rescue services. The average cost of school fires in 2000-2004 was a staggering £58 million per year (Source: teachernet.gov.uk.). This prompted Jim Knight, the minister of State for Schools and Learners, to announce in 2007 the new DCSF policy on sprinklers and their value as a measure against the risk of fire and arson. It is now expected that all new schools should have fire protection sprinkler systems installed.
