Foam fire protection systems typically inject a concentrated foam compound into water-based deluge or sprinkler systems.
These systems should be used to protect buildings that contain combustible liquids and other hazards that a normal water-based fire protection system could not suppress in the event of a fire. The foam system suppresses fire by separating the fuel from the air.
