FIRAS scheme for Commercial & Industrial, Residential & Domestic Sprinkler Systems

The FIRAS scheme offers a technically equivalent alternative to the existing certification scheme for the design & installation of sprinkler systems into commercial and industrial premises, is accepted by insurers and offers a real choice to the sprinkler industry.

The FIRAS scheme for installers of sprinkler systems covers design, installation and maintenance within 3 specific categories of installation types.

Using a FIRAS certificated company ensures that systems will be properly designed and that installers, assessed by FIRAS for their competence, will only use the correct products and systems within their tested and approved scope.

FIRAS installers of Commercial and Industrial Sprinkler Systems are required to maintain ISO 9001:2000 certification of their management system including records of every contract undertaken to facilitate programmed audits / inspections of ongoing work activities. FIRAS installers shall maintain records of all contract awards and on completion the installing company will issue a certificate of compliance and label their work.

The FIRAS scheme for Commercial and Industrial Sprinkler Systems was developed in conjunction with BAFSA the British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association
