What a day. On Saturday 5th July, Crediton RFC was buzzing with energy, excitement, and electric rugby as Rugby Rush delivered a spectacular finale to Yenz’s Year, and we were proud to be right in the thick of it as headline sponsors.
The event was a fast-paced celebration of the game we love, featuring professional players past and present, men’s and women’s teams, and a sprinkling of celebrity star dust for good measure. From big hits to big laughs, it was a day packed with action and atmosphere and the perfect day out for families, friends, and rugby fans alike.
But let’s be honest, the highlight for us was The FDS Warriors.
Led by none other than Captain Jack Nowell, and featuring our fearless leader Keiran Johns donning the No. 2 shirt, the FDS Warriors were a force to be reckoned with. Under the expert guidance of coach Sam Simmonds, they took to the field with fire, flair, and full commitment and came away victorious.
And it wasn’t an easy route to glory. The Warriors went head-to-head with seven tough teams, each captained by some of rugby’s biggest names. Standing opposite them on the pitch were the likes of Ethan Roots, Dave Ewers, Lagi Tuima, Matt Banahan, Jacques Vermeulen, Jemma Dymond, and of course, the man of the moment himself, Jack Yeandle.
In the thick of it all, one moment left the crowd and a few former pros genuinely stunned. Watching from the sidelines, former Exeter Chief Chris Bentley was overheard saying, “who knew Keiran could run that fast?”. A cheeky nod from a man who knows his rugby and proof that Keiran’s pace might just be our best-kept secret.
It was an incredible moment for everyone at FDS, a true celebration of teamwork, leadership, and the community spirit that drives both our company and grassroots sport.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the teams, and made Rugby Rush such a memorable day. Whether you were cheering from the sidelines, chasing kids around the clubhouse, or getting selfies with rugby royalty, we loved sharing it with you.
Here’s to more days like this.
