FDS is excited to announce a major win – we’ve clinched the fire sprinkler package for the prestigious University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
This exciting £60 million project is set to breathe new life into the historic Osney Power Station, a Victorian gem nestled on the scenic banks of the River Thames in central Oxford. Once complete, this revitalised space will serve as a top-tier residential teaching facility.
The Saïd Business School Global Leadership Centre will feature a sprawling convening space and a total of 121 luxurious bedrooms for the esteemed executives who grace its halls.
But that’s not all! The project also includes flexible meeting areas, a dining haven, and a leisure facility that boasts a state-of-the-art gym and a multipurpose exercise studio.
The Osney Power Station holds a special place in Oxford’s history, having powered up as the city’s inaugural electrical plant back in 1892. It faithfully hummed along until 1968 when it gracefully retired. The University recognised its potential and acquired it in 1969, utilising it as a research laboratory for the Department of Engineering Science until 2010.
Our works include:
- New GRP Fire Sprinkler Tank
- Diesel and electric fire sprinkler pumps
- Sprinkler arrays seamlessly integrated into false ceilings, soffits, and voids throughout all five floors
- Zoned systems
This remarkable contract boasts a value of £700k, and it’s yet another feather in our cap.
