Project Description
The Brief
To design, supply, install and commission a sprinkler system to a new inner-city primary school incorporating ground, first and second floors. Including water supplies.
The Challenge
Due to its location within the inner city, the school was designed to try and maximise its space. Therefore, the location of the pump house and tank was positioned within the back corner of the building. Due to access restrictions, both tank and GRP pump house were delivered flat pack and erected on site. One of the first projects to use Autosprink to carry out the design.
The Solution
FDS Installed a fully hydraulically calculated OH 1 system with 349 sprinkler heads inclusive of water supplies to LPC rules BSEN12845:2015 incorporating TB221. Equipment used 27.5m3 GRP rectangular sectional tank feeding 1 duty electric pump via 1 no 80mm wet alarm valve all situated within a GRP pump house located at the back of the school.
